Copycatting Obama’s communications

Same keyword, same typeface (Gotham).
I’ve been seeing more and more Gotham, and tons of stuff that seems to be riding on Obama’s communications coat-tails in one way or another. I’m curious if you’ve noticed the same thing.
I imagine that in the case of the Camel ad above, it was a conscious maneuver, but I also have a hunch that a lot of people are doing it subconsciously. And that’s especially curious.

Wow! Great observation.
With both candidates running on so-called “change” and now products taking on the message — I wonder if “change” will become a cheeseword like “synergy” of the 90s.

JS–i think you might be right. in my industry (design), “positive change” is used a lot, and it’s starting to smell a little ripe.
