Crutch Master, Bill Shannon
…in real life, I often experience genuine acts of Good Samaritanism as obstacles.
Bill Shannon has the remnants of Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease, a bilateral leg deformity. It forces him to use crutches when he walks. It has also taught him to become more adept at moving through a city than any us. Wow. Fucking wow.
Big Little Things

Two things:
It especially struck me that he said (something like), “it’s about individual style.. finding your own pathway.. you’re relating to your environment as it comes to you in an improvisational and freestyle basis–taking in what’s thrown at you in the best way you can and you evolve your skills from there.”
#1) Amen, very Zen. I’ll let it inspire my approach to my life, which is rather chaotic and fantastic right now.
#2) You two seem to have a mini theme involving evolution going.. wind walkers (I want one), Crutch..

Yeah, I was also inspired by Bill Shannon’s full out engagement with WHAT IS and his obvoius joy in movement. And god, the guy doesn’t seem to indulge a drop of self pity.
Thanks for putting that piece up.
